Johan Cruyff
JOHAN CRUYFF was arguably the most exciting player in Europe during the 1970s, the driving force behind Holland’s rise to the top of world football.
He led his first club, Ajax, to three successive European Cup triumphs and that included 2-0 final win against Panathinaikos at Wembley in 1971. He was voted European Footballer of the Year three times (1971, 1973 and 1974) and inspired the Dutch to give England a footballing lesson in a Wembley friendly in 1977.
He was back in ’92 as coach of the Barcelona team that finally won the European Cup after so many years of trying.
